"The Federal Security Service of the Russian Federation has stopped the illegal activities of a citizen of the Republic of Moldova, Marius Prunyanu, born in 2001, who arrived in Russia on assignment from the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine (GUR MOU) to organize sabotage and terrorist acts," the agency reported.

As established by Russian special services, in 2022-2023, Prunyanu participated in the Special Operations Center of the Special Operations Forces (military unit A1737) and the "International Legion" (military unit 3449) of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in battles against the Russian Armed Forces near Artemovsk in the DPR.

According to the FSB , Prunyanu "was recruited in December 2023 by an employee of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense, given the pseudonym Max, and sent to Moldova to prepare terrorist attacks in Russia."

Before leaving for Russia, a curator from the Ukrainian special services gave Prunyan money in Chisinau , with which he bought a Toyota Land Cruiser Prado with Moldovan license plates. In it, the GUR officers equipped a hiding place in the form of a battery with three explosive devices based on the plastic explosive substance C-4 weighing 1.6 kilograms each, three safety-executive mechanisms based on electronic clocks, three detonators of the EDP type and three keys for closing the electronic circuit.

According to the plan of the Ukrainian special services, the delivered explosive devices were to be used to commit sabotage and terrorist acts in the Russian Federation," the FSB reported.
