The Israeli Army Radio quoted a security source as saying that "an Israeli was arrested in Lebanon despite entering as a journalist and holding British citizenship".

Al-Akhbar newspaper sources reported that a person holding a British passport was arrested in the southern suburbs of Beirut yesterday. He was Israeli and among the journalists who arrived in Lebanon in the past two weeks. When he was searched, an Israeli passport was found in his possession bearing his photo under the name Yehoshua Tarkovsky, born in 1982 in the United States of America. When the name was searched on a search engine, the name of a similar person who works for a Hebrew website appeared.

The newspaper explained that the arrest came after "the resistance notice in the past few days that some Western journalists were conducting daily tours in the southern suburb and certain areas under the pretext of inspecting the destruction."
